Fine Boot

Dear Red Wing Shoes,

I am 19 years old and work as a carpenter. I recently bought my first (and not last) pair of boots from you. I love them. They are comfortable and very durable. I regret taking them off at the end of the workday, and wear them every chance I get. Thank you for making such a great quality boot.

The Best Boots

Dear Red Wing Shoes,

I work with concrete, tearing it out, replacing, and finishing it. I bought my first 6-inch, Odyssey Wedge SuperSole, Barnyard Chemical resistant boots nearly 4 years ago. I just bought my second pair early this summer.

The sole is great because it doesn't carry mud like other soles. Neither do they carry snow so they are not slippery in the snow. The leather is medium heavy and can take the scuffs of the broken up concrete. However, the most impressive thing about these boots is the chemical resistance in the leather. I work with guys that have to buy new boots every 6 to 8 months. My boots last 3 years. I wear them EVERY DAY, ALL DAY LONG! Resole them once after 18 months and wear them another 18. I spray them off with a water hose, let them dry, and oil them up. They are the best boots I've ever owned.

A Very Relieved Customer

I started a new job for a company in Columbus, Ohio as a food delivery truck driver a month ago. This job requires me to be on my feet about 12 hours a day, doing heavy lifting, etc. I guess I always being a regular Joe so to speak; I swore I would never spend $100.00 on a pair of steel-toed work shoes as long as there was a cheap place to buy them for $29 or $39! Man was I well misinformed about shoes! Toay I was on standby; my supervisor asked me how things were going. I said to him, I think all this heavy lifting has gotten to my back because I am very sore. He told me he felt as though the lifting may be part of my lower back pain. He thought 60% of the problem was my cheap shoes. He informed me that our company had an account at Red Wing Shoes at 4901 West Broad St. Columbus, OH. He told me the company would pay 50% of the cost for a good pair of steel-toed work boots. Being a regular Joe, I thought my boss was crazy when he said my shoes were part of the problem. My boss took me to the Red Wing Shoe store to get me a pair of work boots. I thought this would be an easy 15-minute trip, to walk in, find a pair of boots in my size, and walk out. However, the salesman, whose name I can't remember, that is identified on my receipt as #15. Not only did he measure my feet but gave me pros and cons on the selection I made. He gave me his advice on what pair would be best suited for my job. He also provided me with removable insoles that were matched to my boots. He put each boot on my feet, laced and tied them. I thought the boots felt great. So we made the purchase and wore them out of the store. I have an hour drive to get home from the store. Feeling somewhat apprehensive about spending $130.00 for a pair of boots, and noticing how great they felt, but often looking down to see how great they looked. 40 minutes into my drive home I realized my back was not hurting. Not only did my feet feel great but also my back felt good for the first time in weeks. In fact, I did not take my boots off for 3 hours after I got home and that's usually the first thing I do. The salesman made me a Red Wing customer for life and I will always recommend to my friends and family to try Red Wing shoes before a chiropractor (haha). I thank you and my feet thank you from the bottom of my back.
